for a second shelter in our area. Calls from all over came in.
Seeking our help with found and abandoned and injured cats and
kittens. The first year we rescued 35 kittens. They were all
adopted to good homes.
Each year the numbers of calls have grown, as did the need for a
shelter. We operated out of pocket and our first building was a
rented garage. It housed 13 kittens, a homemade rabbit hutch, a
ten-pound bag of food and a gallon jug for fresh water.
Vaccinations and antibiotics were transported in a small cooler.
In 2002 we established a permanent home and shelter for our
homeless critters.
At any given time we care for as many as 75 to 100 pets. In 2006
we had 194 adoptions.
The success of Cats off Broadway is carried on through donations
and adoption fees and the unconditional love by a handful of
dedicated volunteers.
Our operating costs have soared to over $40,000 annually.
Our love and respect for these little animals is never ending.
Our hearts and our souls surround Cats off Broadway.
